Gail Hiestand, LPC
My approach to therapy is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, person-centered therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and solution focused therapy. I tailor each session to meet your individual needs and goals. I value collaboration and view our work together as a partnership to help you gain insight, build coping skills, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles. My hypoallergenic therapy dog, Bailey, is present for most sessions.
I specialize in working with those struggling with issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, LGBTQ+, relationships, life transitions, and disordered eating. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that considers your unique life context. I’m here to support you through every step of your journey.
Prior to my work in private practice, I worked thirty years as a high school counselor. Outside of the office, I coach high school softball, and I enjoy pastimes like golfing, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and traveling. Additionally, I volunteer my time at The Highmark Caring Place, a center for grieving children, adolescents and their families that offers a safe place for grieving children and their families to come together with others who understand what they’re going through. In addition to my experience, formal training, and professional certifications, I bring a deep sense of empathy, understanding, and a commitment to creating a warm and trustworthy environment for healing. I am genuinely invested in your well-being and am honored to walk alongside you as you make meaningful changes in your life.
If you're ready to take the next step toward emotional wellness and personal growth, I’d love to connect with you. Please feel free to reach out for a consultation or with any questions you may have about my services. I look forward to supporting you on your path to healing!
